Presentation of the Monegasque teams by Ms Diane Fissore, President of the competition and of the Fédération Equestre de la Principauté de Monaco

Show president, as well as chairperson of the Fédération Equestre de la Principauté de Monaco, Diane Fissore was extremely happy in the evening of the last class of this 15th LGCT – Jumping International de Monte-Carlo.  “This show is a small miracle, she confided. It wasn’t easy to organise. Two months ago we didn’t even know if the event would really take place. We had to do in just a few weeks what we normally do in 6 or 8 months. I’m lucky to have a fantastic team who made it possible. The public authorities were also a huge help. I’d like to thank all the partners, starting by Longines. We’ve also Fayat Monaco, public works and construction in Monaco, a partner for the first time at the event, as well as the Casino of Monte-Carlo. We need all these partners. Their loyalty is primordial and I’m immensely grateful to them. We must enjoy the moment !”

Also a huge satisfaction to see in the ring more and more riders representing Monaco. “In 2019, there were already a large number of riders representing Monaco but we didn’t yet have a team. Some of them were still competing in national classes over 80cm tracks, and now, in a month, they’re going to the European Championships. It’s amazing progress ! All these youngsters are the future and we must start preparing them now. Even if we’re the Jumping’s organisers, we remain above all a national federation which operates all year round. We started from nothing in 1995 and in 2021 we administer between 270 and 300 horses and nearly 90 members. This sport has become more democratic in Monaco. It’s also a story of transmission because today we have the children of those who were present when the Federation was created. Moreover it’s for this that we’re very active, as we want and must keep up this dynamism and continue to professionalize ourselves
