The Richest Arabian Horse Race in Spanish Racing History

Under the directives and generous patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, the San Sebastián Racecourse will, for the first time, host the prestigious UAE President’s Cup for Purebred Arabian horses tomorrow, Friday, 15 August 2025, marking the 32nd edition of the series and its inaugural staging in Spain in its new format.
The Cup series, held under the patronage of the UAE’s wise leadership, aims to develop the Arabian horse racing industry, support owners and breeders worldwide, and promote the breeding and ownership of the Purebred Arabian horse, preserving its authentic heritage and elevating its global standing.
The Spanish leg is the ninth stop of the 2025 UAE President’s Cup Series and is the richest Arabian race in Spanish racing history, with a total prize fund of €200,000. This Group 3 race, contested over 1,600 metres, will feature an elite line-up of Purebred Arabians aged four years and above from Spain and across Europe.
The race will see strong UAE representation, including:
- Alwarry (No Risk Al Maury x Aljazi by AF Albahar), owned by Faisal Al Rahmani, trained by Thomas Fourcy, and ridden by Mickaël Forest.
- RB Malexis (Al Mourtajez x Rich Kinka by TH Richie), owned by Saif Bakheet Saif Murshed Al Marar, trained by Xavier Thomas-Demeaulte, and ridden by Hugo Mouesan.
- Al Wakrah (TM Fred Texas x Majida by Majd Al Arab), owned by Al Shaqab Racing, trained by Jean de Mieulle, and ridden by Olivier d’Andigné.
- Al Zwair (TM Fred Texas x Zenhobie by Dormane), owned by Mme. D. Waldron, trained by Jean de Mieulle, and ridden by Ricardo Sousa.
The field also features other notable contenders, including:
- Extra Time (Valiant Boy x Sand Witchh by Burning Sand), owned by Guy Neivens, trained by D. Morrison, and ridden by Fabrice Veron.
- Kanti de Bozouls (No Risk Al Maury x Mesk de Bozouls by Dahess), owned by Ibrahim Mohammed Al Fadala, trained by Thomas Fourcy, and ridden by Ikeim Gian Bernard.
- Lino (AF Albahar x Ezza by Kerbella), owned by Yannick Schulz & Eric Dell’Ova, trained by Eric Dell’Ova, and ridden by Antoine Werle.
- Zakyna Al Zarayan (Al Mamun Monlau x Lyna Al Zarayan by Kerbella), owned and trained by Alfonso Lezama, and ridden by Sr. Lezama.
