Dubai studs enhance breeding quality for hundreds of local breeders
The Royal Knight of the Arabs, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, continues its renewed support for national studs and owners of purebred Arabian horses in the UAE, within the framework of a vision aimed at improving the quality of production and enhancing the competitiveness of Emirati horses at the regional and international levels.
Engineer Mohammed Al Tawhidi, General Manager of Dubai Arabian Horse Stud, revealed that this generous initiative, under His Highness’s directives, will continue. He noted that during the 2025-2026 season, it allowed for the utilization of the stud’s elite breeding stallions, which have proven their excellence in terms of genetic value and achievements across various disciplines.
Al Tawhidi explained that the 2026 breeding season saw the approval of over 100 applications from Emirati breeders, while the total approvals over the past three seasons, in addition to the current season, have exceeded 400. This reflects the high demand and confidence in the quality of the breeding programs offered by Dubai Arabian Horse Stud.
He emphasized that this generous gesture represents an extension of His Highness’s approach to supporting the Arabian horse sector, pointing out that the success of any stud is only complete when its positive impact extends to all owners and breeders, contributing to the development of a strong and sustainable national breeding base. He added that the Dubai Stud’s experience embodies a comprehensive strategic vision, built on sound scientific and methodological foundations, making it a global model in the Arabian horse industry. He explained that this success was not accidental, but rather the fruit of long-term planning and a clear vision that believes excellence is cultivated, not inherited.
