UAE Riders Prepare for the August 22–23 Competition
The UAE equestrian calendar continues this weekend as Boudheib Equestrian Academy prepares to host the Summer Show 2026 Final on August 22 and 23, bringing another competitive weekend of show jumping to Abu Dhabi.
Listed on the official calendar of the UAE Equestrian and Racing Federation, the event follows Summer Show competitions staged earlier this month at Sharjah Equestrian & Racing Club.
The Boudheib fixture provides riders and horses with another opportunity to compete during the UAE summer while maintaining momentum ahead of the busier equestrian season.

A Summer of Equestrian Competition in the UAE
Although the UAE’s major international equestrian calendar is traditionally associated with the cooler months, summer competitions play an important role in keeping riders active.
The Summer Show programme has already included competitions at Sharjah Equestrian & Racing Club on August 8–9 and August 15–16.
Now attention moves to Boudheib Equestrian Academy for the August 22–23 final.
Another Summer Show final is scheduled to take place at Sharjah Equestrian & Racing Club on August 29–30, extending the domestic jumping programme through the end of the month.
For riders, these competitions offer valuable opportunities to maintain competitive rhythm, work with developing horses and prepare combinations for future events.
Why Show Jumping Requires More Than Speed
Show jumping is one of equestrian sport’s most technically demanding disciplines.
Success requires a precise partnership between horse and rider. A competitor must judge distances between fences, control the horse’s stride, select the correct approach and remain balanced throughout the course.
Speed matters, but accuracy can be decisive.
A fast round can quickly be compromised by a rail down, refusal or other penalties. The best combinations therefore balance pace with control.
For younger horses in particular, smaller domestic competitions can also provide valuable experience before they progress toward more demanding classes.
Boudheib’s Place in UAE Equestrian Sport
Abu Dhabi has established a substantial equestrian infrastructure spanning show jumping, endurance, racing and other disciplines.
Boudheib is particularly familiar to followers of UAE horse sport and has contributed to the country’s development of both competitive riders and horses.
Facilities and competitions across Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah have helped create an environment where riders can progress from domestic events toward international competition.
That development pathway remains important as the UAE continues to strengthen its international presence in equestrian sport.
UAE Show Jumping Heads Toward a Bigger Season
The timing of the Boudheib Summer Show Final also makes the event particularly interesting.
August represents a transitional period for UAE equestrian sport. As summer approaches its final weeks, riders, trainers and stables begin looking toward the larger programme of competitions traditionally associated with the cooler months.
Maintaining fitness and competitive sharpness during this period can therefore become an important part of preparation.
The UAE’s investment in equestrian sport has helped establish the country as one of the region’s most active horse-sport destinations, with disciplines ranging from endurance and Arabian racing to polo and show jumping.
The Summer Show programme demonstrates that competitive activity does not disappear completely during the hotter months.
Looking Ahead to August 22
With the Summer Show 2026 Final at Boudheib Equestrian Academy approaching on August 22–23, attention will turn once again to the horses and riders competing in Abu Dhabi.
For competitors, it represents another chance to test their preparation.
For UAE equestrian sport, it is another building block in a calendar that continues to develop talent and sustain the country’s deep connection with the horse.
