The highly-anticipated Emaar Masters Cup 2020 will kick off on Tuesday, 11th February at Dubai Polo & Equestrian Club. The action-packed tournament will see prestigious Polo teams battling it out for the entire week, with the finals set to take place on Saturday February 15, 2020. The club, with the support of the Dubai Sports Council, will reward tournament finalists a cash prize of AED 120,000, a novel award for the sport of Polo in Dubai.
Details of the tournament were revealed in a press conference yesterday, hosted by Abby Blom of the Showhub UAE and attended by Chris Newman, CEO, Emaar Hospitality Group, Khalid Essa Al Jayassi, Director of Emaar Leisure Clubs, Lisa Matthews, General Manager of Dubai Polo & Equestrian Club. The event took place at Dubai Polo Bar at Emaar’s Dubai Polo and Equestrian Club. The establishment has hosted many prestigious Polo tournaments in years past, contributing considerably to the success of the sport in the region.
The Emaar Masters Cup 2020 is a medium-goal Polo tournament played by prominent members of the Royal Family, including HH Sheikh Falah bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s Ghantoot Polo Team, HH Sheikha Maitha bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s UAE Polo team, Bangash Polo team, Abu Dhabi Polo team and Bin Drai Polo team. Over the past decade, these teams played against the highest level of skilled athletes and managed to triumphantly clinch wins from low to high-goal Polo tournaments.
