Dubai Polo Season Returns with Exciting October Tournaments
Dubai’s prestigious polo season is gathering momentum as Al Habtoor Polo Club prepares to welcome players, spectators and equestrian enthusiasts for a series of exciting competitions throughout October and the coming months.
Known for combining sporting excellence with elegant hospitality and a strong equestrian heritage, Dubai has established itself as one of the Middle East’s leading destinations for competitive polo.
The 2026–2027 season promises another compelling calendar, featuring emerging players, established teams and some of the region’s most anticipated tournaments.
According to the official Dubai Polo Gold Cup Series calendar, the season opened on 10 October, with the Ladies Charity Cup scheduled for 24 October and the Halloween Cup taking place from 26 to 31 October.
Halloween Cup Brings Competitive Polo to Dubai
One of the season’s early highlights will be the Halloween Cup at Al Habtoor Polo Club.
Scheduled over six days, the competition features a 2–4 goal handicap format, creating opportunities for participating teams to demonstrate their skill, teamwork and horsemanship.
Polo is widely regarded as one of the most demanding equestrian sports, requiring exceptional coordination between rider and horse, tactical awareness and the ability to make rapid decisions during intense competition.
The Halloween Cup provides an opportunity for spectators to experience these qualities while enjoying Dubai’s established polo culture.
The tournament also marks an important early fixture before the calendar progresses towards higher-handicap competitions.
Dubai Prepares for Major Polo Championships
The competitive programme continues in November with the UAE National Day Cup, scheduled from 24 to 28 November.
Attention will then turn towards the internationally recognised Silver Cup, scheduled from 23 January to 6 February 2027.
The prestigious Gold Cup, one of Dubai’s leading polo competitions, is scheduled for 3–20 March 2027, featuring a 20-goal handicap format.
These tournaments attract attention from the international polo community and help reinforce Dubai’s reputation as a destination for high-level equestrian sport.
The official UAE Polo Federation continues to support the development of the sport, promoting competitive standards and coordinating activities across affiliated clubs.
