The UAE Polo Federation has signed a memorandum of understanding with La Martina Polo World in Dubai, UAE to strengthen their existing relationship and the continued development of the sport of polo.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed on the Emirati side by Mohammed Khalaf Al Habtoor, Chairman of the UAE Polo Federation, and René Beil, Managing Partner of La Martina Polo World established in Dubai Meydan FZ.
The MoU aims at exchanging technical and administrative expertise between both organizations to collaborate and organize with each other in the areas of mutual interest of the equestrian sport of polo to collectively host the XIII Federation of International Polo World Championship under the patronage of the Department of Economy and Tourism of the Government of Dubai who have expressed their bid as host city for this prestigious International Polo Championship which occurs every subsequent three years.
Mohammed Khalaf Al Habtoor stated that the signing of the memorandum of understanding with La Martina Polo World comes within the framework of keenness to expand the base of relations with legacy lifestyle polo experiences and to exchange expertise and develop the sport of polo in addition to supporting and encouraging polo players in the region. He pointed out that the federations interest in national talents, organizing competitions as well as media and marketing aspects are keen to develop the sports and technical cadres by participating in internationally acclaimed global tournaments.
René Beil expressed “We are excited about this milestone Polo World Championship initiative, contributing towards the region’s growing economy as a global polo tourism destination of the United Arab Emirates. La Martina Polo World is fortunate for our thirty seven+ years’ legacy of polo lifestyle developments of pioneering nature and we are privileged to be working closely with UAE Polo Federation as well as UAE Government Agencies to achieve our collective long-term strategic vision for the passionate and dynamic equestrian sport of polo”.
The memorandum of understanding includes additional items of importance which are the development of the training sectors, academies and national teams, quality games, public relations, media and marketing, local competitions, and the organization of events.
