The Al Habtoor Polo Club was beautifully adorned in pink for the seventh edition of the Ladies Charity Cup 2025, held in proud partnership with the Al Jalila Foundation. In an inspiring display of talent and teamwork, PBS emerged victorious over Invictus to claim the championship title.
This year’s prize-giving ceremony took a special turn — every woman from both teams received a Winning Trophy, symbolizing unity and celebrating the true purpose of the event: supporting the fight against breast cancer.
The tournament highlighted the strength, resilience, and solidarity of women in sports, as two determined teams — the Pink Soldiers and the Pink Warriors — competed with passion and purpose for a cause that brings the community together.
Team Lineups:
• Pink Soldiers: Sheikha Alya Al Maktoum, Safa Khurshid, Lauren Dickson, Charlie Wooldridge
• Pink Warriors: Petra Spanko, Kim Roche, Freddy Leyland, Tomate Palacios
To kick off the day, a chukkers exhibition match took place between Habtoor Polo and Al Basha Polo.
Team Lineups:
• Habtoor Polo: Mohammed Al Habtoor, Khalaf Al Habtoor, Habtoor Al Habtoor, Juan Cruz Guevera
• Al Basha Polo: Hani Basha, Bruno Paz, Edgardo Montoya, Javier Guerreiro
The exciting match concluded with Habtoor Polo taking the win, with a final score of 5–4.
The afternoon offered plenty of family-friendly entertainment, including market stalls, food vendors, children’s activities, pony rides, and a silent auction, making it a memorable day for all attendees.
Mr. Lukas Tremmel, General Manager of Al Habtoor Polo Resort, presented the awards. Sheikha Alya Al Maktoum earned the title of Most Valuable Player, while Best Playing Pony was awarded to Comandante from Al Habtoor Polo Academy, ridden by Charlie Wooldridge.
