Ankora Lamar Polo Team produced a strong and consistent performance to defeat Ghantoot Polo Team and claim the Emirates Polo Championship International (12-goal) title. The final was held on Sunday, February 1, at the Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club, bringing to a close one of the region’s leading medium-goal tournaments.
Both teams entered the decisive match unbeaten, setting the stage for a competitive final. Ankora Lamar took early control of the game, establishing a lead in the opening chukka and maintaining their advantage throughout the match.
With Baltazar Jauretche stepping in during the tournament after Mohammed Bin Drai sustained an injury in the semifinals, Ankora Lamar demonstrated depth and teamwork. Guided by an outstanding performance from José Riglos, the team managed the game effectively across all four chukkas to secure a convincing victory.

The Ankora Lamar lineup featured Khalid Al Omran (0), Santos Iriarte (3), Tomás Iriarte (3), and José Riglos (6), for a team total of 12 goals.
Ghantoot Polo Team was represented by Ali Al Marri (0), Baltazar Jauretche (2), Ciro Urturi (3), and Pablo Llorente (6), for a team total of 11 goals.
The match was officiated by Peter Wright and Chris Hyde, with Santiago Torreguitar serving as third man.
At the conclusion of the final, individual honours were awarded. José Riglos was named Most Valuable Player, while Khalid Al Omran received the Amateur MVP award. The Best Playing Pony prize was awarded to Olivetti, ridden by José Riglos.
