UAE Show Jumping Summer Series Enters Decisive August Stage

The UAE’s show jumping calendar is maintaining its momentum through the summer, with riders and horses preparing for a busy final stretch of the Summer Show 2026 series across Sharjah and Abu Dhabi.

Organised under the calendar of the UAE Equestrian and Racing Federation, the summer programme has provided riders with regular competitive opportunities at Sharjah Equestrian & Racing Club and Butheeb Equestrian Academy, two important venues in the country’s equestrian landscape.

Following the latest competition at Sharjah on 8–9 August, attention now turns to another round at the same venue on 15–16 August, before the programme moves to Butheeb on 22–23 August. A further Summer Show final is scheduled at Sharjah Equestrian & Racing Club on 29–30 August.

The programme demonstrates how the UAE continues to provide a structured competitive environment even during the hotter months of the year.

Keeping Horses and Riders Competition Ready

Summer competition can play an important role in maintaining the rhythm of both horse and rider.

Rather than waiting for the UAE’s larger winter events, riders can use regular competitions to assess fitness, improve technique and develop partnerships with their horses.

The upcoming weekend provides another opportunity for riders to test their form as the summer programme approaches its concluding rounds.

After Sharjah, attention will shift to Butheeb Equestrian Academy on 22–23 August, which the UAE Equestrian and Racing Federation calendar lists as a Summer Show 2026 Final.

The series then returns to Sharjah for another final scheduled for 29–30 August.

Butheeb’s Growing Role in UAE Equestrian Sport

Butheeb has become an increasingly important part of the UAE’s wider equestrian infrastructure.

Located in Abu Dhabi, the venue supports the development of riders and horses while hosting competitions across different levels.

Alternating summer competitions between Butheeb and Sharjah also gives participants experience in different environments rather than competing continuously at a single venue.

This can be particularly useful for young horses, whose education extends beyond jumping fences. Travelling, adapting to new surroundings and remaining focused in unfamiliar arenas are all part of developing a successful competition horse.
