Trainer Oberdan S. Pereira and Almir José Ribeiro won first places with sensational victories by Gluck AJR and Clapton AJR at the UAE President Cup Series Awards for Fillies III and for Colts II on Saturday, April 23, at the Cidade Jardim Hippodrome, Jockey Club de Sao Paulo.
Gluck AJR (Mared Al Sahra x Genna AJR by Voltaire Rach) secured victory in the UAE President Cup Series for Fillies III Award, disputed in 1,000m on turf, for 3-year-old and older and with up to two wins, fifth race of the UAE President Cup South America Mondial Brazil 2022.
Mared Al Sahra’s four-year-old filly, well-handled by apprentice jockey Wellington Ariel, Gluck AJR took the lead after the start and holds it until the end to claim victory in her first race eight lengths ahead of Odessa Rach. (Feitizzo Rach x Obsession Rach by Voltaire Rach) with jockey Ruan Mendonça. Flicka AJR (Feitizzo Rach x Fascinacion by *Adventure Aladin), ridden by Idevaldo Silva finishes in third place.
It is worth mentioning that the three mares are trained by Oberdan S. Pereira and Gluck AJR as well as Flicka AJR are owned and bred by Almir José Ribeiro, racing director of the Brazilian Arabian Horse Breeders Association.
