Al Habtoor Polo Team wins the title after defeating “Al Basha and Dubai Wolves”
The Al Habtoor team was crowned champion of the Masters Polo Cup, organized by the Emirates Polo Federation as part of the Dubai Gold Cup 2026 series, after defeating the Al Basha and Dubai Wolves team by a score of 7 goals to 5.5 goals in the final match held at the Al Habtoor Polo and Equestrian Club and Resort.
The tournament was held in a festive atmosphere that reflected the spirit of unity and diversity that characterizes the UAE. The event served as a platform to bring together different segments of society in a comprehensive sporting and entertainment experience.
The day’s program began with a performance by students from the Polo Academy, who presented a remarkable display on the main field. In two 12-minute chukkas, they showcased their skills to guests in the picnic area and members of NIRA, creating an interactive atmosphere despite the light rain.
In the final match, officiated by referee Miguel Delia, Al Basha and Dubai Wolves started strongly and managed to take the lead in the early chukkas. However, Al Habtoor Polo rallied in the second chukka, turning the tide and gradually widening the gap until they secured the victory in the final stages.
The Al Habtoor Polo Team included Mohammed Al Habtoor, Khalaf Al Habtoor, Guillermo Cuttino, and Thomas Iriarte, while the “Al Basha and Dubai Wolves” team was represented by Hani Jabsha, Habtoor Al Habtoor, Tariq Al Habtoor, and Justo Cuttino.
